21 facts about me

21 Facts about Me_By Olivia Adams.png

I always enjoy reading a “facts about me” blog post or Q&As. So I thought it was only apropos to write my own “facts” post to help introduce myself. Enjoy!

  1. Lake Michigan is my happy place. My earliest memories are playing along the beaches and swimming with my dad during the golden hour (see photo above). Those sunsets never get old.

  2. I’m obsessed with collecting beautiful, inspiring coffee cups. I think I got this love from my mom. Most of my collection is curated from Rebel Reclaimed in Grand Rapids, Anthropologie or have been gifted to me. I’m currently running out of cupboard real estate for my collection. One day I dream of having an entire wall dedicated to my coffee cups.

  3. When I was in elementary school, my dream job was to become a children’s book author. I still think it would be fun to do that some day!

  4. I’m in love everything s’mores flavored. Ice cream. Coffee. Coffee creamer. Desserts. Fudge. Anything with the word “s’mores” in it -- I’m trying it!

  5. I wish I could relive the experience of watching How I Met Your Mother for the first time. It’s one of my all-time favorite TV shows.

  6. I am always hand lettering. In my planner, in the margins of notes, in sketchbooks, on white boards. I’m obsessed and it’s so therapeutic.

  7. My favorite flowers are peonies because my grandmother was a member of the American Peony Society and created a peony that was named after me.

  8. My last meal on earth would be a table-sized charcuterie board.

  9. Vance Joy is my favorite musician. So far I’ve seen him live twice and it’s not enough!

  10. When I was a kid, I won a contest for picking up the most trash in my hometown on Earth Day. I wish I could remember how many bags my dad and I collected, but it was a lot.

  11. I often misinterpret song lyrics and make up my own words. For example, for a very long time I would sing the chorus to Gavin DeGraw’s “I Don’t Want To Be” like “I don’t wanna anything other than what I wanna be baby.” When in reality it’s “I don't want to be anything other than what I've been trying to be lately.”

  12. I worked at a movie theatre throughout high school and in college. I was in it for the free popcorn! I also really loved seeing my “regulars.” And today, I now feel like I’m a “regular.”

  13. I started CrossFit about three or four years ago. I lose track. I love lifting heavy things!

  14. My birthday lands on the last day of winter most years. Sometimes it lands on the first day of spring like it did in 2020!

  15. I’ve been working in public relations for about six years or so now. I got my start in the nonprofit world, got some agency experience and now I am now in the world of tech PR!

  16. Working in PR, I’ve had the opportunity to coordinate media interviews with celebrities including Foreigner, members of The Fierce Five and the late Eddie Money to name a few.

  17. My favorite food blogger is Half Baked Harvest and my favorite cookbook is “Cook It in Cast Iron” by Cooks Illustrated

  18. I’ve been interviewed for TV before.

  19. I love to bake all types of desserts. Especially chocolate chip cookies. The trick is to slightly under bake them. Crunchy corners and an ooey, gooey, soft inside.

  20. There’s always room for ice cream in any season!

  21. I used to be a drummer aka played percussion for about eight years (middle school through college).
